⚙️ Operating Principle

Drive Balls

Balls are seated inside precision detents within the drive plate and slide plate.

Spring Loading

The plates are held together under controlled pressure from the spring assembly.

Torque Release

When overload occurs, balls roll out of position and separate the drive components.

🚨 Disengagement During Overload

When the driven machine jams or overload exceeds the preset torque value, the drive balls roll out of their seats and force the drive plate and slide plate apart.

The balls are retained by the cage plate and move freely along the flat surfaces, removing harmful torque from the drive train and preventing equipment damage.

🔄 Re-Engagement Options

Type AC - Automatic Random Reset

Ball detents and cage holes are equally spaced, allowing automatic reset after tripping in either direction. Immediate shutdown is recommended to prevent detent wear.

Type ACT - Automatic Synchronous Reset

The balls must return to their original position before resetting. Re-engagement occurs within two revolutions in the opposite direction.

Type AF - Free Wheeling Disengagement

Allows higher operating speeds by moving balls away from the detents onto a separate running track. Reset is achieved manually by locking and reversing the drive.
